Meet Founder: Thomas Mitchell Finch

Thomas Mitchell Finch is the founder and managing attorney of Finch Legal PLLC, where he brings a unique blend of experience, dedication, and compassion to his legal practice. A graduate of The College of William and Mary, and Elon School of Law, he is known for his commitment to guiding clients. His approach to law emphasizes more than just legal representation; he serves as a trusted advisor, helping clients make informed decisions that align with their goals. He serves private clients in business law, estates, and civil litigation. He also serves court appointed clients in guardianship and estate matters. Since opening Finch Legal in August of 2020, he has served more than 700 individuals and businesses in and out of court.

Meet Of Counsel: Michael Ohrenberger

Michael Ohrenberger is a seasoned intellectual property and compliance attorney with over seven years of experience advising clients in complex patent, trademark, and transactional matters. He brings a unique blend of scientific training and legal insight to Finch Legal PLLC, holding a J.D. from Elon University School of Law and an M.S. in Biotechnology (magna cum laude) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Michael’s practice focuses on helping clients protect and leverage their innovations. He has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting trademark applications, managing brand portfolios, advising on licensing and enforcement strategies, and conducting thorough clearance searches. As a registered U.S. Patent Attorney, he also supports clients in patent matters across a wide array of technical fields, including biotechnology, immunology, drug discovery, medical devices, and biomaterials.

In addition to his intellectual property work, Michael advises corporate and nonprofit clients on regulatory compliance, employment law, vendor and commercial contracts, and risk management. His litigation experience includes representing parties in federal administrative proceedings and alternative dispute resolution forums involving EEOC, MSPB, and FDA-related matters.
